FAQ: How to use and maintain
1. How often do the maintenance?
The nozzle needs daily maintenance by De-oxidising gel.
You can buy the gel in your local, it cannot ship by courier as it’s liquid.
Remove the pump head and clean off the tin slag once a week.
2. For nozzle installation
a. Please preheat it in melted tin before install it.
b. Please remove the nozzle with tweezers after finished working to avoid blocking the nozzle and prevent it from sticking to the pump head after the tin liquid cools down.
3. How to avoid solder bridging and drawdown?
There are some suggestion to get soldering quality:
a. The DIP component pin pitch should be more than 2.54mm.
b. Selective wave soldering machine with automatic infrared preheating function. Preheat temp 100-120℃
c. Melted tin temp. 240-300℃.
d. Using nitrogen, reduce oxidation and conserve tin material.
e. Using rosin flux
4. How to select flux?
There are 3 normal flux, no clean flux, rosin flux and flux paste.
a. For mini selective wave soldering machine, flux paste is better, brush it on soldering area directly. Rosin flux is also ok.
b. For desktop selective wave soldering machine, there is no preheat function, so rosin flux is better.
c. For the automatic wave soldering machine, there is preheat function, so all kinds of flux are ok.
5. Is Nitrogen necessary?
Mini type, desktop type and automatic selective wave soldering can support to use nitrogen to get glossy weld joint.
Nitrogen is necessary for desktop type and automatic type to get perfect weld joint without solder bridging.
6. How much tin should be added in pot?
For the tin amount, should be less than 3cm from solder pot top side. There is limit sign in pot.
Advoid the tin liquid from flowing onto the equipment surface, which may cause the bearing to become stuck.
7. How to select tin bar?
It can use lead free and lead tin. We suggest to use lead free tin, there will be less fog.
Also, Sn should more than 60 to make sure good fluidity and tin spary.
8. Is it ok to add tin wire or solder paste?
It cannot add tin wire or solder paste, as both contain rosin or flux, to avoid most fog.
9. What usage is the spoon?
Using spoon to remove tin dross during working, avoid the pump head from jamming the shaft.
